Kaia can't get enough of her new Jumparoo

Kaia spitting and playing....well, mostly spitting

Okay, for the first two minutes of this video there is really annoying music and I did it but I don't know how to get it off...sooo, just wait it out (maybe turn your volume down) and then the video will continue without the music...sorry!

These are probably my most favorite pictures that I have taken of Kaia. SHE IS SO ADORABLE (of course, I am a little biased)!!!

She just looked so cute today playing on the floor (and lounging on her boppy, she's too much!), and then trying to CRAWL again. In a few weeks, she is going to be non-stop!!!

Kaia and Sadie "playing"

In the 10 minutes it wasn't raining today, we got a little sunshine!!!

What a pair!!!

Kaia loves her Oma sooooooooooooo much!!!

The Sippy Cup is a hit!

Kaia LOVES drinking from the sippy cup. She is only drinking water out of it (since she still tends to make a mess) and she must hold it by herself (she will push my hand away if I try to help). She gets so excited whenever she sees it. What a big girl!!!

Guess we're done with the swing

Since Kaia is now wanting to sit up all the time, she feels like she do so in her swing as well. When she does, it throws the balance off and the legs of the swing come off the ground, scarring me half to death, of course. So first the bouncy seat (because she got herself out of it, twice) and now the swing gets to go live in the basement!!

Cutie Pie!!!

GUESS WHAT I DECIDED TO DO TODAY???

Once she got it down, that's all she wanted to do!!!!!

A day in the life of Kaia

Here are a few snapshots of the everyday activities of little Miss Kaia (not that I haven't already posted a million - these are mostly for her Daddy). She is so active and it is becoming more and more challenging to entertain her. She is 29 weeks old and trying to crawl (she likes to practice in her crib). She is also under the impression that I am a human trampoline because she constantly jumps up and down in my arms. She is never still unless she is asleep and she loves lights, music, or any noise. She is developing a bit of an attitude lately. She is not afraid to show that she does not like something (spitting, yelling, making ugly faces)and she demands your attention (even that of strangers in waiting rooms). She still loves bathtime and is making an even bigger mess than before.
She laughs at almost everything but really gets tickled when:
- you scare her
- she sees my car (???)
- she sees Sadie or Sadie brings the ball to her
- I do the microwave dance (don't ask)
- I go in her room first thing in the morning and sing the good morning song
- Opa talks to her
- you blow on her tummy

Kaia is 6 months old TODAY!!!

Kaia is getting SO BIG!
She is doing everything so fast. Some new things she is doing are:
- rolling over so so fast all over her crib
- spitting and making spitting sounds all the time
- trying to sit up all the time and then falling over
- taking her binky in and out of her mouth all the time, she has gotten so good she searches for it in her crib at night and can get it in her mouth by herself now - THANK GOD!!!!
- bouncing up and down in your lap (almost trying to jump) all the time
- laughing at almost everything
- ALWAYS finding the tags on things and inspecting them. She gets really quiet and rubs the tags between her fingers then of course, they eventually go into her mouth
- getting a little shy around some strangers. She puts her head into my shoulder and cuts her eyes back at whoever is talking to her...this doesn't last long..she soon reaches out to be held by just about anyone!

Her favorites...
Song - "The Wheels on the Bus"
Video - "On the Go" (Baby Einstein with Airplanes in it of course)
Position to sleep - on her tummy or side (but always falls asleep on mommy on her tummy in the rocking chair)
Foods - Green beans and Sweet potatoes and corn (not so much fruit yet)
Pajamas - Her bunny sleeper from Rebekah and Ole in Norway :)
Game - peek-a-boo and the techno dance that Daddy does with her
Toy - Baby Einstein Book and ANY PUPPET (she LOVES puppets)
Activity - Exersaucer and Swing

She is:
sleeping through the night for 12 hours (the baby monitor is now off :) :) ), eating baby food twice a day and bottles about every 3-4 hours, enjoying her mobile and piano in her crib, trying to crawl, still putting her feet in her mouth, the most amazing thing in this world!!!!

Champagne Region in France

The Champagne Region was so beautiful and the tour of Moet and Chandon was really neat....we were so tempted just to slip a bottle of Dom into my diaper bag (especially since there were thousands of them in the cellar)!!! :) :)

More Paris Pics....

PARIS

This vacation was truly amazing!!! We had such a good time and Paris was unbelievable. Kaia did really well although she slept through the Mona Lisa. We walked through the city visiting the normal tourist sites such as the Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, and shopped along the Champs Elysees (okay, mostly window shopped). We ate at little cafes along the street and enjoyed the food. The weather was perfect and the people were very nice. We ate nutella crepes along the sidewalk and sat in the park. I was very sad to leave.
On our drive home, we stopped in the Champagne region of France where all the worlds champagne is made (if it isn't made there, it is referred to as sparkling wine, NOT champagne...learn something new everyday). We visited the Moet and Chandon Mansion (that is the champagne K and I had the night we got engaged so it has special meaning to us:)). We took an hour tour in which we learned how champagne is made and got to tour the mansion. We also got to go into the underground cellars where all the champagne is stored. It was so neat to see how the process works and of course we didn't leave without buying A LOT of champagne.
The weekend was so great and it was nice to spend time together before the craziness of this year begins.
