So Many New Things...

Kaia is about to turn 11 Months old (in a week) and she is doing something new everyday. It is so exciting to watch her grow and learn. She says mmmmmm...Mama and Dadadadada. We don't think she is associating those words with us yet but when you ask her "where's daddy"?, she flips her photo album to Kristian's picture and points at him, so she is understanding a little bit. I also tell her to "kiss daddy", and she brings his photo to her mouth and kisses the picture...it truly makes your heart melt. She kisses me on the mouth (and they are very slaubery...if that is a word) and loves to hug me so tight. She is learning parts of the face and if you ask her where your nose is, she will put her finger on your nose. She sometimes gets mouth and eyes mixed up, but she gets better everyday.

She is now walking all around the coffee table when before she was only taking 2-3 steps then sitting down. She will walk all the way around it several times before going back down to the floor to crawl so who knows, maybe soon she will take her first step. She is an expert crawler and will take off and I literally have to run to catch her. When you ask her, "what are you doing"?, she laughs hysterically then takes off and crawls away as fast as she can.

She is now into her baby doll. She kisses it and gently touches it's face. She also likes to "kiss the baby" in the mirror. She will laugh then lean forward and "kiss" herself in the mirror.

As sweet of a side as this little girl has, there is also a very rough side to her as well. She loves to BANG on things as hard as she possibly can. She has a toy hammer that she has become so good at using. She bangs it on the tables, on the floor, on the glass doors of the entertainment center, and on all of her toys. She is so strong and is so intense when she does it, it is like she is trying to break it (hmmm, wonder who she got that from??). She gets this extremely determined face and concentrates so hard as she is banging things around, it is a little scarry!

She also LOVES books. We read to her several times a day for 30 minutes at a time (and it still amazes me that she actually sits still for that long when she is always SOOO busy). She loves to look at the pictures, feel the different textures on the pages, and listen as I make sound effects for different things. She will get a book out of her toy box and bring it to me to read. She likes to help flip the pages and points to all the different things she sees. It is so cute!


Here is a picture of Kaia in her very cute dress and tights before church on Sunday. My intention was to take a lot more pictures of her in this outfit after church but on the way home she threw up all over herself, and her car seat....poor little thing had a stomach bug and it was not fun!
