Mema and Papi come to visit

Now lovingly known as "Mimi and Papa" (sorry Mace, she has changed their names), Kaia's grandparents came to help us with the madness last week. The week FLEW by but we were able to squeeze in some fun things in between ALL the work they helped us get done. Our house is almost completely organized which would have taken us another 4 months had they not come to help. Thank you both so much! We love you!

Pudding Peek-a-boo
Kristian thought it would be hilarious to show Kaia how to rub her hands all over her face while they were covered in chocolate pudding. In standard fashion, she copied exactly what he did and we ended up with a chocolate covered baby. We all got a good laugh but guess who ended up dealing with bathtime (the right answer should have been her daddy but Mimi came to the rescue!!).

Mt. Charelston
Sunday morning we drove the 25 minutes up to Mt. Charelston and enjoyed the 25 degree COOLER weather. It was wonderful to be outside longer than 2 minutes and it was gorgeous up there! This will definitely be a frequent place we visit while stationed here!

Wagon rides with Papa
The temperature actually cooled off a little bit a couple of mornings and it was nice enough to go for a walk. Kaia LOVES her wagon that Mimi and Papa brought for her (it was Macey's - thank you Mace) and she really enjoyed having her breakfast and milk while going for a walk in the mornings!

The Rainforest Cafe
Kaia's favorite place is the Rainforest Cafe inside the MGM. Her Mormor took her there last month and we decided to have breakfast there with Mimi and Papa. She just couldn't get over all the animals. She laughed and squealed and had a ball. She suckered Papa into buying her a butterfly in the gift shop which is still her favorite toy (and a week later is a LONG time).

The Lied Children's Museum
After breakfast we went to the Lied Children's Museum. I was surprised to see how many things they had for kids Kaia's age. She had such a good time! Her favorite was shopping at the Little Kids Smith's Grocery Store and the Hurricane simulator which the winds got up to 85 mph. Was she scared? No way! She laughed and jumped up and down in daddy's arms and afterwards said, "More Please"!!

Kaia's Playroom
A project Mormor and I started several weeks ago, Kaia's playroom is so fun and she sure does use it! Mimi and Papa brought a bunch of Macey's old toys including her kitchen which Kaia loves. She spends a lot of time in there playing and exploring. Every night before bath time we all help clean it up. She is so used to it, she starts singing the "clean up" song before she even finishes her dinner!!!

Go Vols
While watching the Tennessee game (yes - they lost!), Papa taught Kaia how to yell "YAAAAHHHHH", "GO,GO,GO" and "Booooooooooo". Anytime she sees sports on tv now she yells one of those cute phrases!!

Loving on Mimi and Papa
As usual, the grandparents were anxious that Kaia wouldn't remember them or go to them...well that lasted about 2 seconds. She went to my mom right away and layed her head on her chest. She sort of acted sad as if she remembered and then realized she had missed them. She also went to Papa right away and started messing with his beard. Every morning she would run into the kitchen and yell, "Mimi, Papa". She still asks about them every morning and every night! She runs up and points to their pictures and mimicks what she remembers about them (With Papa it is acting like a monkey, with Mimi it is pretending to pinch me with her little fingers).

More pictures to come from Mimi and Papa's camera....
