We celebrated a little on Saturday night with some of Kristian's college friends (I surprised him with a princess cake and ice cream at a dive bar in CO Springs...too funny) but the real party started Monday morning when Kaia woke up! She was SO EXCITED about daddy's birthday! She had painted him a picture, picked him out a gift and helped wrap it, and could not wait for him to have his cake!! She kept saying, "Happy Birthday daddy", "I love you daddy". In fact, she is still saying it today :) As Kristian opened his kid sized basketball goal he said he was reminded of his wedding gifts, "pretty much none of them had to do with me" :) :) That's okay, he sure did have a great time playing basketball with Kaia.
