Well, go figure, Kristian was sick and we had to cancel his first birthday party. Instead we spent most of the morning in an urgent care clinic (which seems to be where I am ALL the time lately). That afternoon, we all wanted cake so we had a very small family celebration. Even though he had a high fever, he rose to the occasion and dug into his cake and his presents!!
