April was BIG for the Thieles!

Where did April go? It seems like every time I go to blog, another month has flown by! April was another crazy month! We finally got settled having Kristian home in San Antonio. Let's see...what happened in April? Kristian is enjoying working at Kelly for the Gunfighters, Kaia is still loving school, Kristian started saying some new words, I have been enjoying seeing old friends, and Brittany came into our lives!

Brittany
I met Brittany through a babysitting website and we immediately fell in love with her. She keeps the kids a couple days a week for me and they adore her!! She is already a big part of our family and we have enjoyed outings to lunch, Sea World, and out to the new house!!



EMERSON :)
Emerson came into our lives completely on accident and all of us are just smitten with her! My cousin's good friend actually won Emmy, Em, Emer (pick one, we already have so many nicknames for her) at the Gulf coast Conservation Society Auction. She was one of four grand prizes for their raffle. She is a registered yellow lab puppy who couldn't be any sweeter. She was born on February 3rd and when we got her she was 10 weeks old. She is now 14 weeks old and very comfortable with her new family. She wis great with the kids and even tolerates Kaia's constant hugs and kisses. Kaia loves to brush her and help me bathe her and she even lets Kaia put bows in her hair. She starts puppy kindergarten next week and we already have a head start as she is almost completely housebroken and she will sit and stay (at least for 5 seconds!!). She is a great addition to our family!!







House
The house is coming along amazingly fast! It seemed like it took FOREVER for the foundation to get poured and now every time I go out there it looks closer and closer to being done (even though we still have two and a half months!!). The framing is complete, the roof is almost done, and the plumbing will be done at the end of this week. Kristian is getting excited to get out there and start working on our property (clearing brush and picking up rocks....and there are A LOT!!). It is getting closer and closer to move in and time and we are so excited (so our my parents :) )!!



Sea World
We have been enjoying using our season passes to Sea World while it isn't too hot! The kids LOVE the water park and seeing the animals is always fun!





K goes to Fallon
Kristian went TDY to Fallon AFB for two weeks for some yearly training something or other (sorry for the lack of details). He enjoyed seeing Vandal, the camaraderie with his colleagues, and OH DARN!!...hiking and sightseeing around Lake Tahoe!! He did come home to a new puppy and a son with new tubes in his ears! Why do all these things tend to "pop up" while they are gone??

Kristian has surgery!
We finally got in to see the famous Dr. Moe and he truly was GREAT! He took one look at Kristian's ears and said SURGERY, THIS WEEK!!! I was expecting another 4-8 weeks wait for the surgery but he said, Kristian had moderate hearing loss and the infection grossness that was hibernating in his ears had been there a long time and had to get out asap! So four days later, he had tubes put in both ears!
He did so great! Not a single tear was shed and he was so cute when he woke up and saw me. He gently reached out for me and nuzzled close and didn't move or make a peep for 30 minutes. Since then, we have had no problems (knock on wood!). He is saying things more clearly, and 9 days later, started walking! The doctor told us his balance and speech could have definitely been affected by all the infections so we are happy that he is feeling better and now seeing the world from 24 inches higher :)

Now he gets to wear this very stylish ear guard during bath time to prevent water getting in his ears! He is a trooper!!
